MSU men win seventh straight

- The Midwestern State University men's soccer team won it's seventh straight game on Sunday, defeating the
University
of
Central Arkansas
1-0 in non-conference action.

MSU (11-2-1) is ranked 21st in the latest NSCAA/adidas Division II national rankings. UCA (5-7-1) is in it's first season as a Division I institution, and was playing it's only home game of the year.

The Mustangs scored their only goal in the 33rd minute when senior Brandon Swartzendruber took a pass from Sun Potter and put it in the net.

Swartzendruber, MSU leading scorer for the season, scored his 12th goal of the season.

Junior goalkeeper Jeremy Turner recorded three saves while notching his third consecutive shutout.

MSU outshot UCA 11-9, with UCA keeper Chris Murphy also chalked up three saves as well.

MSU is off until Friday when the Mustangs travel to

Austin
to meet St. Edward's in a 5 p.m. match.
