MSU Women fall in Central Region Final
ABILENE, Texas - The season ended in the regional final for the Midwestern State University women as the sixth ranked Abilene Christian University Wildcats downed the Mustangs 5-1 in the Central Region final of the NCAA Division II Women's Tennis Championships.
MSU (14-6) got its lone win at number one doubles when the team of senior Michelle Beukes and sophomore Brenna Jackson defeated ACU's Holly Lindoff and Lana Pavlin 8-5.
But the top ranked Wildcats (29-6) allowed MSU just five games in the other two doubles contest.
The singles did not favor MSU as well, with ACU's Lindloff beating Faye d'Hamecourt 6-3, 6-4 at number two, Sarah Drummond downing Beukes 6-1, 6-3 at number five, and Elizabeth Korinek ending the match by beating Jessica Odorizzi, 6-0, 6-3 at number six.
