Willson earns LSC North Pitcher of the Week honors for second time

WICHITA FALLS , T exas  - Senior starting pitcher Brittany Willson posted a pair of shutout wins to help the Midwestern State University Mustangs take 3-of-4 from
Northeastern State

last week and earn her second Lone Star Conference North Division Pitcher of the Week award.

Texas

native limited the Lady Reds to a .218 batting average and 12 hits in 14 2/3 innings of work. Willson struck out 13 batters and walked just one while delivering her fifth and sixth shutouts of the season.

Central Oklahoma's Angela Stratton was named LSC North Hitter of the Week went 5-for-10 at the plate, scored four runs and drove in three runs on two doubles and a home run.

Texas Woman's Rhonda Sherman earned LSC South hitting honors, while Texas A&M-Kingsville's Nora Aguilar was tapped LSC South Pitcher of the Week.

The No. 11 Mustangs, who have now strung together four shutouts, return to action Wednesday after noon in

Abilene

with a 2 p.m. double header against Abilene Christian.

MSU returns to the Sunrise Optimist Complex on Saturday when it plays host to

Angelo State. First pitch for the twin bill is slated for noon.
