- third baseman Kristen Stonecipher was named Lone Star Conference North Division hitter of the week for the second time this season Wednesday afternoon.
The sophomore from Flower Mound, led the No. 9-ranked Mustangs to a 4-2 record last week by hitting .524 (11-for-21) with two doubles and a pair of home runs on her way to a .905 slugging percentage. She drove in four runs, scored four more and capped the week off with a stolen base.
Stonecipher can extend her six-game hitting streak Saturday night at the Sunrise Optimist Complex when the Mustangs play host to LSC North leading Central Oklahoma
at 5 p.m.
Stonecipher has punctuated the hitting streak with five-straight multi-hit games. She has notched a school-record 21 games with two or more hits to help her to a .398 season batting average.

to earn LSC North pitcher of the week honors.

freshman Rachel Walck keyed a four-game sweep of by going 3-0 with a 1.26 ERA to earn South Division pitcher of the week honors, while teammate Jessica Stroud was named the division's hitter of the week.
