NCAA Revises Men's Tennis Draw

WICHITA FALLS
,
Texas
- The NCAA revised its Division II Men's Tennis Championship bracket, leaving the two Central Regionals with just three teams each instead of four.

This means that the

Midwestern
State
University
men's team will not play an opening round match and advances to the second round to meet the winner of the first round match between Abilene Christian and Incarnate Word.

"An incorrect bracket was released on Wednesday," an NCAA administrator acknowledged. "The bracket was reissued, but the incorrect bracket was out much longer than we expected."

As a result, East Central and Southeastern

Oklahoma
, teams with sub-.500 records that should not have been considered for the tournament, were removed from the field. This created byes for Midwestern and St. Edward's, the host of the other Central Regional.

The match times for the contests at the

MSU
Tennis
Center
were announced on Thursday. The ACU/Incarnate Word match is set for May 4 at 2 p.m.

The winner of that match faces

Midwestern
State
on May 5 at 10 a.m. for the right to advance to the round of 16 in
Kansas City
.
