Mustangs claim highest national ranking in program history

jumped 12 spots to claim the program's highest ranking at No. 9 according the National Fast-pitch Coaches Association Top 25 poll released Wednesday afternoon.

 

The Mustangs are now 39-12 on the season and 16-6 in the Lone Star Conference's North Division.

 

Other LSC schools joining MSU in the Top 25 are: Abilene Christian, which climbed one spot to No. 15 and

Central Oklahoma

, which received votes for the first time this season.

 

The Mustangs play host to

Central Oklahoma

on Saturday at the Sunrise Optimist Complex with LSC North Division title on the line. First pitch for the doubleheader is slated for 5 p.m.

 

Humboldt
State

maintained its grip on the top spot, while

Emporia
State

reclaimed the No. 2 spot after sliding to third in the last poll.

 

Midwestern
State

is 7-4 against teams currently ranked in the Top 25.
