Emerson earns second-straight player of the week honors

WICHITA FALLS, Texas - Midwestern State junior Brett Emerson was named LSC men's tennis player of the week for the second consecutive week Thursday afternoon.

 

Emerson claimed two singles victories and three doubles wins to help the Mustangs to a 2-1 showing last weekend at the Broncho Tennis Invitational in Edmond, Okla.

 

Emerson claimed straight-set wins over Northwest Missouri's Pablo Acebedo and Southwest Baptist's Daniel Prerad.

 

He was up a set on Drury's Matias Oddone, the nation's top-ranked singles player, when the match was called off the court.

 

Emerson is now 16-2 in No. 1 singles play and 15-4 in No. 1 doubles.
