MSU Softball moves up to 11th

WICHITA FALLS, Texas - The Midwestern State University softball team moved up three spots in the latest National Fastpitch Coaches Association Division II Top 25. á MSU checks in at number 11, after ranking 14th in the previous poll.

 

MSU has a record of 25-6 overall, 8-2 in Lone Star Conference North play, after splitting a doubleheader with fourth ranked Southeastern Oklahoma State on Tuesday.

 

Emporia State (Kan.), who defeated MSU earlier this season and boasts a 26-1 overall record, remains number one, with Florida Southern second and Humboldt State (Calif.) third. á SOSU is fourth with Southern Illinois-Edwardsville fifth.

 

Lenoir-Rhyne (N.C.) is sixth, with Cal State Bakersfield and Cal State Dominguez Hills seventh and eighth. á Barry (Fla.) is ninth with Lock Haven (Pa.) rounding out the top 10.

 

Incarnate Word ranks 15th in the poll, while Abilene Christian and St. Edward's were outside the Top 25 but received votes.

 

MSU returns to the field on Saturday at Southeastern Oklahoma in an LSC North doubleheader scheduled to start in Durant, Okla., at 1 p.m.
