MSU Softball among South Central Region's Top 10

INDIANAPOLIS - The NCAA Division II Softball Committee released 2006's first regional rankings Wednesday afternoon and it includes Midwestern State.

The Mustangs, who were ranked No. 11 in the latest NFCA national poll, made the list and are currently 27-8.

The ranking includes Abilene Christian, Angelo State, Incarnate Word, Nebraska-Kearney, Northeastern State, Regis, St. Edward's, St. Mary's and Southeastern Oklahoma State.

The committee released the poll in alphabetical order.

The top eight teams in the final poll will advance to the South Central regional on May 11-15.

The Mustangs play host to Northeastern State in a Saturday afternoon doubleheader at the Sunrise Optimist Complex. First pitch is slated for 2 p.m.
