Faurot drops 21 on ACU, MSU women win in OT 77-72

Faurot keyed a 21-4 run midway through the second half with a ápair of 3-pointers that helped MSU turn a 50-41 deficit into a 61-54 lead with four minutes to go in the game. The senior guard dropped in 21 points on 8-of-11 shooting, including 5-of-8 from beyond the arc. Senior guard Tia Banks helped fuel the run with three of her five steals coming during the stretch. Banks finished the night nine points, six boards and eight assists. Katherine Maples added 13 points and six boards, while Robertson and Kelly Cleavinger finished with 11 each. The Wildcats, who fell to 9-12 and 3-5 regained the lead on Jamie Boles-Lord's jumper with 1:08 to play and extended the lead to 65-61 with 21 seconds to play on an Audrey Maxwell layup. But Robertson converted both ends of the double bonus after Alex Guiton fouled her in the front court to close the margin to two points. Guiton then traveled on the ensuing inbounds pass before Robertson beat the buzzer with a jumper from the baseline. Faurot's fifth 3-pointer of the night gave the Mustangs the lead for good at 74-72 with a minute to play in overtime. Maples blocked Lord-Boles' jumper on the ensuing possession and then converted a layup off of a Cleavinger entry pass to put MSU up 76-72 with 18 seconds to play.
