MSU Women beat Central Oklahoma 61-54

Katherine Maples closed out her third straight double-double by connected on all four of charity tosses in the final two minutes. Maples finished with 20 points and 12 rebounds.

Angie Faurot extended the MSU lead to seven by connecting on three charity tosses after being fouled by UCO's Lizzie Banner beyond the 3-point arc.

Faurot was the only other Mustang in double-figures, finishing with 10 points in 21 minutes.

The win is MSU's second in a row and gives it a 6-8 record on the season. The Mustangs will try to extend the winning streak to a season-best three games Monday night at East Central (

Okla.
).

The Mustangs used an 11-0 run early in the first half to build an eight-point advantage. Sonya Courtney's layup put MSU up 12-4 at the 15:38 mark, but the Mustangs failed to score a field goal over the next 8:38.

The drought allowed the Bronchos to go on an extended 18-3 run and when Lindsey Wilson buried a trey at the 6:23-mark of the first half, UCO led 22-15.

The Mustangs answered with an 11-4 run to send the game to halftime tied at 26-26.

The teams continued to exchange punches in a second half that featured three ties and seven lead changes.

MSU took the lead for good when Kelly Cleavinger's 3-pointer with 5:49 remaining ignited a 7-0 run to give the Mustangs a 51-45 lead with 3:35 remaining.

Katie Robertson led the Mustangs with a season-high seven assists to go along with nine points, while Brandi Bush came off of the bench to score seven points and pull down six rebounds.
