East Central trips up MSU Women 79-63

ADA, Okla. - The Midwestern State University women saw their two-game winning streak come to an end with a 79-63 loss to East Central University (Okla.) on Monday night, closing Lone Star Conference divisional crossover play.

MSU (6-9) was swamped at the free throw line in the game, as ECU (6-8) connected on 19-of-32 shots from the foul line and MSU hit only 7-of-18.

The teams were knotted 30-all at halftime, before ECU outscored MSU 49-33 in the final frame.

The Mustangs were led by LaTia Banks who scored 15 points with a team leading four rebounds. á Angie Faurot collected 12 points by nailing 4-of-7 three-point attempts and Katherine Maples fouled out with 10 points and three rebounds.

ECU got 16 points and five boards from Lacey Goldwire, while Jastin Flenory chalked up 15 points with seven boards. á Kacey Thomas chipped in 10 points as well.

The MSU women are off until Thursday night when they resume LSC South action against Texas A&M University-Kingsville. áThe contest, the first of a women's and men's doubleheader, tips at 6:00 p.m. at
