MSU women fall in overtime 82-71
DURANT, Okla. Southeastern Oklahoma State University's Cassie Watson hit a three-pointer with 12 seconds left, then SOSU outscored Midwestern State University 13-2 in overtime as Southeastern defeated MSU 82-71 in Lone Star Conference divisional crossover play.
MSU (3-3) lost it's second overtime game of the season, while Southeastern (3-4) remained perfect at home.
The contest was a close battle all night, with 14 ties and nine lead changes in the game.
MSU had grabbed a three-point lead with 1:04 to go in regulation on Katherine Maples three-pointer, but the advantage was erased by Watson's trey with 12 seconds left.
MSU never led in the overtime.
Maples led all scorers with a season-high 21 points and 14 rebounds for MSU. á Kelly Cleavinger added 11 points and Katie Robertson 10 for MSU.
Lora Loy led Southeastern with 20 points and seven boards, with Jessica Hocker adding 17 points, Watson 14 and Roni Morrow 13. á Loretta Ledford led SOSU with 11 rebounds.
The MSU women are in action again on Tuesday night as they face Cameron in a division crossover game at 7 p.m. at
Stockton Court in Ligon Coliseum.
