MSU returns to NSCAA National Poll

WICHITA FALLS, Texas - After being out of the national rankings for a month, the Midwestern State University men's soccer team returned to the weekly National Soccer Coaches Association of America/adidas NCAA Division II Men's Poll at number 22.

The Indians are at 11-3-2 after last week's 4-1 victory over Northeastern State and 2-0 win over Missouri Southern State.

Incarnate Word, a team MSU has tied 2-2 and 0-0, moved up to a tie at 14th with Franklin Pierce (N.H.) in the national poll.

Fort Lewis (Colo.), who defeated MSU 4-2 earlier this season, moved to the top spot in the rankings this week, with Southern Illinois-Edwardsville second and Dowling (N.Y.) third.  Saint Leo (Fla.) is fourth, followed by Seattle Pacific (Wash.), Carson-Newman (Tenn.), Lynn (Fla.), Clayton State (Ga.) and Cal State-Dominguez Hills.

In the official NCAA Division II regional rankings, Fort Lewis is number one with Colorado School of Mines second, then a tie at third between Midwestern State and Incarnate Word.  Metro State (Colo.) is fifth in the regional rankings.

MSU wraps up the regular season this weekend with a match at St. Mary's Friday at 3 p.m. and then a 1 p.m. contest at St. Edward's on Sunday.  The St. Mary's match is a rescheduling of the one postponed by Hurricane Rita, while the St. Ed's match was moved to accommodate the rescheduled St. Mary's contest.
