MAGNOLIA, Ark. - The Midwestern State University dug itself a hole it couldn't climb out of as MSU dropped it's first road game of the season 98-88 at Southern Arkansas.

MSU (1-1) gotá 18 points and 11 rebounds from Eric Dawson, while Chad Rickett chipped in 17 points.á Christopher Reay added 11 points with six boards, while Eddie Rowe tossed in 10 points.

SAU (1-1) got 20 points from Kenny Langhorne, with 17 points from Leon Stone.á Corey Green posted 14 points, with Brandon Bealer and Brandon White each collecting 12 points.á Lonnie Jackson led SAU with five rebounds.

MSU fell behind 11-2 in the first three-and-a half minutes, but managed to make a run to pull back to within three at 11-8 with 14:49 to play in the first half on a pair of Reay free throws.á However, that was as close as MSU would get, as SAU ripped off an 11-2 run.

After trailing 50-34 at the half, MSU fell behind 54-34 less than a minute into the second frame.á But MSU posted a 16-3 over the next seven minutes to cut the Mulerider advantage to seven at 57-50 capped by a three from >Dawson with 12:52 to play.

SAU answered with a 10-0 run in the next minute and a half, and MSU could not get out of the hole again.
