Midwestern women drop road opener

#225; LAWTON, Okla. -- The Midwestern State University women dropped their first road game of the season as Cameron University tallied a 59-49 non-conference victory Tuesday night at Aggie Gym.

Midwestern (2-1) held a 22-18 halftime advantage and battled with CU (1-2) throughout the second half.

MSU took a one-point 32-31 lead with 10:07 to play on Katie Robertson's three-pointer, but that's when Cameron took off.

CU went on a 12-2 run over the next three minutes, and Midwestern could not climb out of the hole.

MSU was led by Angie Faurot with 14 points, while Robertson added 11 points and eight rebounds.

Cameron got a pair of double-doubles from Tiffany Williams and Joneatta Brown.Williams scored 15 points with 13 rebounds, and Brown tallied 14 points and 10 boards.

MSU was ice-cold from the field, shooting only 26 percent.Cameron connected on 42 percent from the floor.

Midwestern State is off until Monday, Nov. 28, when it meets ninth ranked Emporia State at 6:15 p.m. Central in the Holiday Isle Classic in Islamorada, >Fla.
