Midwestern State University receives largest single donation in its history

The Dillard Trust, as the gift will be known, will be held as a separate entity in the MSU Charitable Trust. Monies generated from the Dillard Trust will provide funding for various programs in the College of Business Administration, including endowed professorships, faculty research, and scholarships for outstanding business students.

"We are delighted by the generosity of Mrs. Dillard and the Dillard family and pleased to add the Dillard name to the list of persons who, over the years, have expressed their confidence in Midwestern State University by lending their names and their financial support to the university," stated Rogers.

The Board of Regents unanimously voted to name the new 88,000 square foot structure that will house the business faculty in honor of the Dillard family. The Board also voted unanimously to name the College of Business Administration the Dillard College of Business Administration.

"It is fitting that the new business building and the College of Business Administration will carry the Dillard name, because A. R. Dillard, Jr. was a prominent independent businessman of this region for many decades. The Dillard College of Business Administration building and the Dillard College of Business Administration will stand as a tribute to Mr. Dillard and to his long association with the business world," said Rogers.

"On behalf of the MSU Board of Regents, I would like to express the board's deep appreciation to the family of A. R. "Bud" Dillard, Jr., for this historical gift. Through the Dillard Trust, the university and, specifically, the College of Business Administration will be able to move forward swiftly as it sets about to become accredited by the most prestigious business association in higher education, The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business, International (AACSB), stated Mac Cannedy, chairman of the MSU Board of Regents.
