Fulkerson selected SSC Defensive Player of the Week
WICHITA FALLS, Texas - Midwestern State University defender Reni Fulkerson was chosen as the Southwest Soccer Conference Defensive Player of the Week after helping MSU take a pair of games last week.
Fulkerson, a 6-1, 170 pound defender who hails from Caracas, Venezuela but attended high school at The Colony, led the defensive attack for MSU in a 4-1 victory over Northeastern State last Friday and a 2-0 triumph over Missouri Southern on Sunday.
Fulkerson also scored his first career goal, the game-winner over MSSU, in the last regular season home game for the Indians.
MSU has two regular season games remaining as it tries for the SSC title as well as a berth in the NCAA Division II Men's Soccer Tournament. MSU visits St. Mary's on Friday in a game postponed by Hurricane Rita, then plays at St. Edward's on Sunday in a game moved back a day because of the rescheduled contest.
