Central Oklahoma ends MSU's title hopes

EDMOND, Okla. - Central Oklahoma's Lindsey Hull tapped in a rebound in the 72nd minute to lead the Brochos past Midwestern State in the LSC championship game Sunday afternoon at Tom Thompson Field.

The loss ended a three-game winning streak for the Lady Indians, who finished with a 9-9-2 record.

The No. 25 Bronchos (16-3-1) extended their unbeaten streak to 16 games, claiming the Lone Star Conference championship in the process.

MSU senior goalkeeper Elli O'Dwyer of Dallas/Lake Highlands earned all-tournament honors after posting nine saves on Sunday and 27 in the tournament.

The Bronchos out shot the Lady Indians 16-4 and used a pressure attack to produce 14 corner kick opportunities.

Hull's game-winner resulted from a corner kick opportunity after Kaitlyn Kelm's header bounced off of the right post, giving Hull a clear shot at an open net.

The Lady Indians mounted their best scoring chance in the final minute of the match when a free kick was deflected in the box and to the feet of sophomore Maghan Holmes of Corpus Christi, but her shot was saved.

Sophomore Melissa Brown of Littleton, Colo. and freshman Sabrina Periman of Tolar joined O'Dwyer on the
all-tournament team.

Hull was named the tournament MVP, accounting for all five Broncho goals with four goals and an assist.
