Polk named LSC South Offensive Player of the Week

            WICHITA FALLS, Texas - After a record-setting performance last Saturday, Midwestern State University quarterback Daniel Polk was named the Lone Star Conference South Offensive Player of the Week.

            Polk, a 6-2, 206 pound sophomore from Dallas/South Oak Cliff, set a Midwestern State record with his 244 yards rushing on just 12 carries, with two touchdowns.  He had a long run of 71 yards, that didn't score a touchdown.

            Additionally, Polk completed 7-of-11 passes for 149 yards and two touchdowns with no interceptions.

            Polk's performance helped MSU to a season-high 463 rushing yards against the Hounds.

            Polk is joined as a player of the week by Tarleton State defensive back Calvin Rankin as the defensive player of the week and co-special teams players in kickers Matt Adams of Abilene Christian and Paul Williams of Tarleton State.
