A&M-Commerce downs MSU 3-1
COMMERCE, Texas - The Midwestern State University volleyball team dropped their third Lone Star Conference contest of the season, suffering a 3-1 loss at Texas A&M-Commerce Saturday at the A&M-C Field House.
MSU (14-7, 1-3 LSC) narrowly lost 29-31, 34-32, 24-30, 27-30 to A&M-C (6-11, 1-2) in sweltering conditions Saturday afternoon.
MSU did not hit well during the match, posting a .101 team attack percentage, while the Lions hit .302 against the Lady Indians.
Shay Velasquez led MSU with 12 kills and a .333 attack percentage for the match, while Kate Pence added 10 kills. Candice Main chalked up six blocks for MSU, but hit a negative .125 with six kills and 10 errors.
A&M-C was led by Colleen Favaro with a career-high 34 kills while hitting .566 against MSU.
MSU is in action again Tuesday night on the road in Denton to face Texas Woman's University in a 7 p.m. match.
