O'Dwyer named LSC Defensive Player of the Week
WICHITA FALLS, Texas - Midwestern State University goalkeeper Elli O'Dwyer was honored as the Lone Star Conference Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week after her performance last week.
The 5-7 senior from Dallas/Lake Highlands was selected for leading MSU defensively in the Lady Indians 1-0 double-overtime upset of then No. 17 Texas A&M University-Commerce in Wichita Falls.
O'Dwyer was flawless in goal for all 109 minutes of the win, recording nine saves while facing 18 shots without allowing a goal to mark her second shutout of the season.
It's the second time this season that O'Dwyer has been honored as the league's defender of the week.
MSU returns to action on Wednesday night when it hosts Texas Woman's University in a 7 p.m. match at the MSU Soccer Field.
