MSU drops to 17th in National Poll

                WICHITA FALLS, Texas - The Midwestern State University men's soccer team dropped to 17th in the weekly National Soccer Coaches Association of America/adidas NCAA Division II Men's Poll released Tuesday.

                Coach Doug Elder's Indians are 5-1 after defeating Eastern New Mexico 2-1 last Friday, but losing to now 11th ranked West Texas A&M 3-0 on Sunday.  MSU fell from fifth in the poll last week, while WT jumped from 21st a week ago.

                Lynn (Fla.) became the third team in three weeks to attain the top position in the poll.  Southern Illinois-Edwardsville fell to second after a tie last week.  Dowling (N.Y.) is third, with Cal State-Dominguez Hills fourth and Fort Lewis (Colo.) moving up to fifth.

                In the coaches association weekly regional rankings, Fort Lewis took sole possession of the top spot, with WT moving into second and MSU falling to third.

                The MSU men hit the road for a pair of games this week in San Antonio, first facing St. Mary's on Friday.  On Sunday afternoon, MSU faces the team ranked sixth  in the region in the coaches poll, Incarnate Word.  Both matches are Southwest Soccer Conference affairs.
