Crockett named LSC Runner of the Week
WICHITA FALLS, Texas - For the first time in school history, Midwestern State University has a Lone Star Conference Cross Country Runner of the Week.
Anna Crockett, a 5-3 senior from Wichita Falls/Rider, was selected the LSC Cross Country Runner of the Week for her performance last Saturday at the Oklahoma Baptist Bison Invitational.
Crockett placed fifth at the meet with a time on the 5,000-meter course of 19:23.03 to lead the first-year MSU team to a sixth-place finish, ahead of three other LSC teams. She also improved her top time at the distance by more than a minute.
She will lead MSU into the North Texas Invitational in Denton on Saturday, a meet recently added to the MSU schedule.
Crockett is the third Midwestern State athlete chosen as a Lone Star Conference Player of the Week this week, joining volleyball's Shay Velasquez and women's soccer's Elli O'Dwyer.
