A Pair of LSC North Players of the Week

            WICHITA FALLS, Texas - Two Midwestern State University players were selected by the Lone Star Conference as LSC North Division Volleyball Players of the Week for their performances last week.

            Freshman Allison Schreiber was named the LSC North Setter of the Week and junior Candice Main was honored for the second time this season as LSC North Offensive Player of the Week.

            Schreiber, a 5-10 freshman from Windthorst, averaged 12.42 assists per game to total 149 in helping MSU post a 2-2 record for the week.  She added 42 digs (3.50 per game), nine kills, three total blocks and three service aces as MSU continued its best start to a season since joining Division II in 1996.

            Main, a 6-1 junior from Fort Worth/Castleberry, tallied 45 kills for the week to average 3.75 per game with a .330 hitting percentage.  She also posted four total blocks and five service aces.

            It was the second time this season that Main had been honored as she was the offensive player of the week on Sept. 6.

            MSU hosts Central Oklahoma on Thursday and Cameron on Saturday to begin LSC North play at D.L. Ligon Coliseum.
