MSU take sweepstakes at TIPA competition
For the second year in a row, the Midwestern State University weekly student newspaper The Wichitan won the sweepstakes competition at the annual Texas Intercollegiate Press Association conference, held April 7-9 in Dallas .
The Wichitan was ranked ahead of 11 other weekly newspapers across the state. The staff won a first place award for in-depth reporting, and individual staff members won an additional 22 awards, including eight first place awards.
MSU's weekly newscast Campus Watch was named top television newscast in the state, with individuals winning six additional awards.
Eleven additional MSU students won awards for on-site competitions.
