Mass Communication students win at competition

 

 

MSU's weekly newscast, Campus Watch, placed third in the television newscast category and won seven individual awards, more than any school in the television competition. In addition, seven students from the weekly newspaper, The Wichitan, won awards.

 

Students earning first place awards included: Zach Duncan, Valarie McCubbins, Eleanor Roberts and Kristin Woods, television videography/editing; Jason Palmer, sports photo; Joe Silva, cartoon; and Matt Terrell, headline.

 

Students earning second place awards included: Roberto Avey, Ashley Awtry, Amanda Carlson and Felicia Walker, television program; Jason Palmer, picture page; Jason Palmer, sports photo; Jordan Ray, television non-feature story; Joe Silva, cartoon; and Neil Sommerlatte, television feature story.

 

Students earning third place awards included: Annette Moore, Zinna Panthier, Jordan Ray and Samantha Sandell, television program Annette Moore, Zinna Panthier, Jordan Ray and Samantha Sandell, television videography/editing; Trey Reed, television promo; and Jennifer Tavlian, sports column.
