MSU gets new ID system

The Campus Card will offer variety, flexibility and convenience while serving as the primary I.D. card for students, faculty and staff. It will also serve as a means of accessing the residence halls, library and other locations around campus.

Maroon Money, a stored value and credit option, is another feature of the Campus Card. Anyone wishing to add money to their card will be able to make purchases at the Sundance Food Court, bookstore, and soon at select vending and copy machines on campus. It is the easiest, most convenient and risk-free way to purchase goods and services while helping students manage their finances at MSU.  

Maroon Money will also be accepted at local vendors around town such as grocery stores, restaurants and other bookstores. Parents will especially appreciate this feature as vendors will have to follow set criteria and will not allow the purchase of alcohol, tobacco or adult material. With time, it is anticipated that students will be able to use Maroon Money for nearly everything they need, including rent. And, because it is a declining balance, not a credit card, it is a guarantee for the vendor.

 Another feature the Campus Card will offer is an optional link to Wells Fargo. Those who choose to do so may add Wells Fargo Debit/ATM capabilities to their Campus Card for no charge. Students, faculty and staff can open a new account with Wells Fargo or use an existing account.  

 Schools across the nation are already successfully using systems similar to the MSU Campus Card. The future of MSU's card promises to be exciting and full of endless possibilities.
