Dr. Dawson Orr, superintendent of Wichita Falls Independent School District, will del
Approximately 385 students are scheduled to earn their degrees this fall. Dr. Orr earned his bachelor's and master's degrees from the University of Alabama. He and his wife both taught at the American School of Laguna Verde in Veracruz, Mexico. He later became the superintendent of the school. He earned his doctorate from The University of Texas in Austin in 1990. He served as assistant superintendent for secondary instruction at Pampa ISD before being chosen as superintendent in 1990. He became the superintendent of Wichita Falls ISD in February 2003. His professional development has included leadership positions with the Texas Center for Educational Research, Texas Leadership Center, Legal Assistance Fund Board, Sid Richardson Foundation, and the West Texas A&M University Presidential Advisory Council. A reception honoring the graduates and their families will be hosted by Dr. and Mrs. Jesse W. Rogers in the Clark Student Center following the ceremony. 12/8/03
