General
Midwestern State University's spring enrollment has set a new record.
Official figures released February 6 set the enrollment at 6,034 students. This is a 4.07 percent increase over the same time period last year. Enrollment has increased each spring semester for the past two years. Last year's spring enrollment at 5798 was a 5.23 percent increase. This is the first time spring enrollment has reached the 6,000 mark. The increase is spread consistently throughout the different classifications although the junior classification showed the strongest increase over spring 2002 figures at a 12 percent increase. This is reflective of retention efforts which have been a focus of the university during the past few years.
