Twenty-four new full-time faculty members were introduced recently at a Midwestern St
New faculty members by college are: COLLEGE OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION Charles R. Johnston was hired as assistant professor of business computer information systems and has received both his B.S. in general engineering and M.B.A. in marketing from the University of Missouri. He received his Ph.D. in information systems from University of Texas at Arlington. He has previously taught part-time at UTA and worked for Ceramic Cooling Tower Company in Fort Worth. Anette Nordskog, who received her M.B.A. in business administration from MSU and her B.S. in psychology from Norwegian University of Science and Technology, was hired as an instructor in business administration. Chris Y. Shao has a B.A. in English from the Chinese Culture University in Taiwan, an M.B.A. from Pittsburgh State University and a Ph.D. in business administration from the University of Texas at Arlington. He was hired as assistant professor of marketing and had previously been assistant professor at Southern Arkansas University for two years. Soo-Ghil Suh was hired as assistant professor of business computer information systems and has a B.B.A. in international trade from Dankook University in Korea, an M.A. in economics from the University of Oklahoma-Norman and a Ph.D. in economics from the University of Texas at Austin. GORDON T. AND ELLEN WEST COLLEGE OF EDUCATION Michael L. Kallam began teaching at MSU last spring as professor of special education. He was previously associate professor at Fort Hays State University and currently has a B.S. in English and history from the University of Tulsa, an M.A. in learning disabilities and mental retardation from the University of Tulsa and a Ph.D. in applied behavioral studies in education from Oklahoma State University. Tamlyn L. Jones started as assistant professor of educational leadership this summer. She was recently state coordinator for TEA Office of Texas High School Education. She has her B.S. in curriculum and instruction from Texas A&M University-College Station, an M.S. in educational administration from Corpus Christi State University and an Ed.D. in educational leadership from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. Patricia Murphy is now assistant professor after teaching as adjunct faculty since 1993. She has a B.A. in English and Latin from the University of North Texas, an M.A. in English from the University of Washington, an M.A. in counseling from MSU, a Ph.D. in English from the University of Nebraska and she is currently a Ph.D. candidate in family therapy and counseling from Texas Women's University. LAMAR D. FAIN COLLEGE OF FINE ARTS Dana Provence, instructor in art, received her B.S. in biology from Baylor University and an M.F.A. in sculpture from the University of North Texas. She comes to us from Tarrant County College in Arlington. COLLEGE OF HEALTH SCIENCES AND HUMAN SERVICES Robert J. Comello serves as the assistant professor of radiologic science. He has received his B.S. in health & physical education from East Stroudsburg University, an A.A.S. in radiologic technology and an M.S. in organized management from College Misericordia. He also has an M.S. in educational technology from Lehigh University. G. Gregory Haff has a B.S. in physical education from East Stroudsburg University in Pennsylvania, an M.S. in exercise science from Appalachian State University and a Ph.D. in education from the University of Kansas. He was previously assistant professor at Appalachian State for two years. Lauren A. Jansen was at the North Texas State Hospital, United Regional, and is currently the assistant professor of nursing. She has an A.D.N. in nursing from New Mexico Junior College, a B.S.N. in nursing from the University of Texas at Arlington. She also graduated with both a B.S.Ed. in history/Spanish and a M.S.N. in nursing from MSU. Chon-Kyun Kim has a B.A. in history from Kyungee University in Seoul, South Korea, an M.A. in public administration from Korea University in Seoul, South Korea and a Ph.D. in political science from the State University of New York-Bingamton. He was visiting assistant professor at Southern Illinois University and is currently assistant professor of public administration at MSU. Nathan R. Moran is currently working on a Ph.D. He is the assistant professor of criminal justice and has a B.S. in criminal justice from MSU. He also has both an M.A. and a Ph.D. in criminology and criminal justice from Sam Houston State University. Debra A. Morgan was on nursing faculty at McLennan Community College and Abilene Intercollegiate School of Nursing. She is currently assistant professor of nursing at MSU. She has an A.D. in nursing from MSU, a B.S.N. from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, an M.S.N. from West Texas A&M University-Canyon and an Ed.D. in administration from Baylor University. Roe A. Roberts has a L.P.N. from Columbus School of Practical Nursing and a B.H.S.A., M.P.H. and a Ph.D. in public administration from Florida International University. She is currently serving as associate professor of health and public administration and was previously associate professor and program director of health services administration at Eastern Washington University. COLLEGE OF LIBERAL ARTS Peter J. Fields who was previously assistant professor of English at Missouri Valley College for five years is currently the assistant professor of English at MSU. He has an A.A. in general studies from Frederick Community College, a B.A. in journalism and an M.A. in English from Shippensburg University, and a Ph.D. in English from the University of Denver. Steve R. Garrison is currently assistant professor of political science and working on a Ph.D. He has a B.A., an M.A. and a Ph.D. in political science from the University of Kansas. Rebecca L. Green has been with MSU since 1993 as adjunct faculty and has taught part-time for MSU for several years. She is now an instructor in English and has a B.S. in education and an M.A. in humanities/English from MSU. Claudia Montoya was a graduate teaching assistant at the University of Tennessee. She will serve as assistant professor of Spanish. She has an M.A. in Spanish letters from Benemerita Universidad Autnoma de Puebla in Mexico and a Ph.D. in Latin American and Spanish literature from the University of Tennessee. Alison P. Reynolds was a graduate teaching assistant at MSU and adjunct in the Intensive English Language Institute (IELI). She is now serving as an instructor in English and the IELI. She has a B.A. and an M.A. in English from Midwestern State University. Jeremy van Blommestein was an instructor at the University of Florida and is currently assistant professor of sociology for MSU. He has a B.S. from Moody Institute, an M.S. in sociology from Valdosta State University and a Ph.D. in sociology from the University of Florida. COLLEGE OF SCIENCE AND MATHEMATICS Victor M. Blunt was a lecturer at the University of Arkansas and is currently a visiting assistant professor of chemistry at MSU. He has a B.S. in science from the University of the West Indies and a Ph.D. in physical chemistry from Baylor University. Pamela B. Stephens was adjunct faculty for MSU and is now an assistant professor of biology. She has a B.S. in geology and an M.S. in biology from MSU, and a Ph.D. in geology from the University of Texas at Dallas. Catherine V. Stringfellow was chair and assistant professor of math and computer science at New Mexico Highlands University. She is currently serving as associate professor of computer science. She has a B.S. in mathematics and computer science from Cameron University, an M.S. in computer science from Ohio State University and a Ph.D. in computer science from Colorado State University.
