Midwestern State University hit another record enrollment for its Summer I term with

This is a 13.5 percent increase over last year's enrollment of 2,279, the largest percentage increase in any summer term. Semester credit hours were 12,708, up 15 percent over the same time period last year. "We've expanded our summer program by making more classes available, especially in the education area. Many teachers in our area take courses during the summer and we wanted to make that opportunity available for them, stated Dr. Robert Clark, vice president for enrollment management and interim vice president for academic affairs. Having an increase at this time is especially beneficial for Midwestern State. "Summer I is the beginning of a base funding period which runs through spring 2003 enrollment. These are the figures the state will use in calculating the formula funding for fiscal years 2004 and 2005," stated Valarie Maxwell, director of budget and management. Registration for Summer II will be July 2 with classes beginning July 3.
