MSU Texas Cheer team earns third in national event

The Midwestern State University Cheer program claimed third place at the Universal Cheerleading Association & Universal Dance Association College Cheerleading and Dance Team National Championship, held Jan. 16-20 in Orlando, Florida.

MSU Texas competed in the Small Coed Division II category against the top 16 schools across the nation. The UCA & UDA College Cheerleading and Dance Team National Championship is the most prestigious college cheerleading championship in the country. The championship was held at the Walt Disney World Resort, and is nationally televised on ESPN and ESPN2 to over 100 million homes and 32 countries nationwide each year.

The MSU Texas team members were:  Alexis Martin, Alexis Roberts, Andrea Sanders, Ashleigh Miller, Belinda Norrick, Caleb Kiser, Carson Lewis, Claire Mowery, DanLee Duncan, Jason Thomas, Jordan Gomez, Jordan Ingram, Justin Kuhn, Kaetlyn Flavin, Kassidy Knight, Libby O’Bar, Montana Oshiro, Sabrina Baldwin, and Tori Phillips.
