The Lamar D. Fain College of Fine Arts and the Juanita and Ralph Harvey School of Visual Arts will present, in partnership with Zavala Hispanic Cultural Initiative, a Mata Ortiz Ceramics Workshop with guest artist Noe Quezada. The workshop is supported in part by a grant made possible by the City of Wichita Falls as administered by the Wichita Falls Alliance for Arts and Culture. The workshop will take place May 13-17 from 9:30 a.m.-12:20 p.m. and from 2-5 p.m.

An exhibition will be open to the public at the Wichita Falls Museum of Art at MSU Texas from May 14-17 and will end with a reception from 6-8 p.m. on May 17. Admission to the exhibition and reception is free.

Steve Hilton, Professor of Art in ceramics at MSU, said that it was exciting that this artist would be on campus working with students for a week. "Workshops like this help our students develop an aesthetic sensibility while reinforcing a cultural awareness that we all are a part of one global society," Hilton said.
