MSU ranked second on affordable online health care administration degree list

Midwestern State University recently placed second on a nationwide list of the 35 Most Affordable Online Master's Degrees in Healthcare Administration. The website Healthcare Administration Degree Programs compiled the listing based on surveys of average in-state graduate tuition costs.

MSU's second place ranking was higher than Texas Tech and Texas Woman's University, the only other Texas universities on the list.

MSU's Master of Health Administration degree was recognized in part for offering four concentrations: Health Information Management, Medical Practice Management, Public and Community Sector Health Care Management, or Rural and Urban Hospital Management.

To find the best-priced online master's degrees in health care administration, site officials used the National Center for Education Statistics' College Navigator, then narrowed the search to schools that offered health administration or management master's degrees through distance education. The search resulted in 104 online degree results.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that the health care administration job field will grow 17 percent by 2024, much faster than average.
