Mustangs remain second in region

            WICHITA FALLS, Texas - Midwestern State University remained in the number two spot in the last NCAA Division II South Central Regional rankings issued before NCAA Tournament invitations are issued.

            MSU (39-14), the champions of the Lone Star Conference North Division, remained behind LSC South champ Angelo State in the rankings.

            Angelo State (41-7) was also selected as the host of next week's South Central regional.

            St. Mary's (36-16) is third this week, with Tarleton State (27-16) fourth and St. Edward's (34-16) fifth.

            Northeastern State (31-10) is sixth after sweeping Central Oklahoma last week, with Western New Mexico (32-16-1) seventh and Texas A&M-Kingsville (29-18) eighth.  Nebraska-Kearney (26-15) is ninth and Mesa State (Colo.) (27-14) tenth.

            The selection of the teams to the NCAA Division II Softball Championships is scheduled to be announced Sunday May 6.
