Mustangs Blast Lady Aggies

Goodwell, Okla. - - The Midwestern State softball won their tenth straight softball game, and set many school records, as they beat Oklahoma Panhandle State , 6-2 in game one and 20-0 in game two.

            The Mustangs (32-11) set school records for most runs scored in a game (20), most hits in a game (20), and most runs batted in (19). Kristen Stonecipher and Leeann set individual records for runs scored by a player, with each scoring three.

            In game one, Lindsey Voigt picked up her seventh homerun of the season, as she finished 1-3 with an RBI, while Cheyanne Paschal went 3-4 and scored two runs, and Maranda Bishop went 2-4 with three RBI's. Katie Petersen moved her record to 18-9, while allowing two runs on three hits and striking out seven.

            In game two, the Mustangs received big games from Stonecipher, 3-3 with a double and four RBI's, Voigt, 2-3 with four RBI's, and Jessica Rodriguez who went 3-3 with a double and two RBI's. Ashley Kuchenski picked up win number 14, as she allowed four hits and struck out two, while also getting a walk and one RBI at the plate.

            Midwestern will be back in action on Friday, when they host Tarleton State. The two teams will play a doubleheader, with game one set to start at 2:00 p.m. at the Sunrise Optimist Club, Skip Brown Field.
