WICHITA FALLS, Texas - - The Midwestern State men's soccer team has announced the hiring of Rob Cummings to the position of Assistant Soccer Coach.

Cummings brings over ten years of coaching experience to Midwestern State, which includes stints at Rockhurst College (Mo.), St Joseph's College, and most recently at Bethel College (Tenn.).

"We are very excited to have a coach like Rob in our soccer program" said MSU men's head coach Doug Elder. "He brings years of experience and his overall job as both a college recruiter and coach speaks for itself."

While at Bethel, he lead the Wildcats to back to back NAIA regional tournaments, which included a school best record of 15-4-2 in 2006, which earned Cummings NAIA Region XI Coach of the Year for 2006.

During his stint at St. Joe's, his men's team achieved the program's highest ever ranking in the top 25 and also achieved a program best ranking in the region of number three.  The teams set various statistical records and had numerous All-Conference, All-Region and Academic All-Americans.

Cummings takes the place of Lance Thompson, who accepted the head men's and women's coaching job at Division II Notre Dame de Namur.
