MSU Women go 3-1 on Spring Break Trip

WICHITA FALLS, Texas - The Midwestern State University women's tennis had a successful spring break road trip into the heartland, going 3-1 against competition from the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletic Association last week.

MSU upped it's season record to 10-3 after gaining a 7-2 win at Southwest Baptist (

Mo.
) on Friday.

MSU also defeated

Missouri
Southern State 6-3 on Thursday, Northwest
Missouri
State 8-1 last Monday, but fell at Washburn (
Kan.
) 5-4 last Sunday.

The Mustangs were paced individually by Melissa dos Prazeres-Silva who won all four of her singles matches, splitting time between positions four and five, and claimed all four of her doubles matches.

Collean Kinser won all four of her doubles matches and posted a 3-1 week at number four and five singles.

MSU, with only a match against Collin County Community College at home thus far this season, gets a chance to play a couple of matches at home this week.

MSU hosts Drury (

Mo.
) on Monday afternoon at the

Center
, then hosts Abilene Christian on Wednesday. Both matches begin at 2:30.
