jumped out to an early 11-2 lead over the Eastern New Mexico Zias, but ENMU came roaring back and never stopped, handing the Mustangs a 69-46 loss in Lone Star Conference South play Thursday night.

MSU falls to 12-13 overall on the year and 5-8 in LSC South action, eliminating the Mustangs from a chance at the LSC Tournament.

Eastern New Mexico
improved to 13-12 on the year, 4-9 in divisional play.

Both teams close the season on Saturday.

After MSU jumped out to the early lead the Zias answered with a 9-0 run.

The teams battled closely for about five minutes, before the Zias went on an 8-0 run and never let the Mustangs back in it.

Eastern New Mexico
shot 37 percent for the game (24-of-65), while holding MSU to 23 percent (11-of-47). The Zias also outrebounded the Mustangs 47-38.

MSU was led by Brittni Burks and Stacey Staten, each with 12 points. Staten led MSU with six rebounds as well.

ENMU got 25 points from Heather Brown, with Elizabeth Richards collecting a double-double with 17 points and 11 rebounds for the Zias.

The Mustangs close out the season Saturday night at West Texas A&M, tipoff set for 6 p.m.
