- The Midwestern State University Mustangs moved back up to fourth in the latest NCAA Division II South Central Region rankings released Wednesday afternoon.

The rankings are based on play through Sunday.

Southeastern
Oklahoma
State
remained in the number one spot with an 18-2 Division II only record, with
Central Missouri
holding on to number two at 17-2 in Division II.

Northwest
Missouri
State
, with a DII record of 17-4, remained third in the region, while
Midwestern
State
moved up to fourth with a 16-6 Division II overall mark.

Tarleton
State
, after losing last week to MSU, fell to fifth with a 14-7 DII only mark, with
Emporia
State
(
Kan.
) sitting in sixth with a 15-4 Division II record.

West Texas A&M moved up from ninth to seventh with a 14-8 DII mark, followed by Texas A&M-Kingsville (13-8 in DII), Southwestern Oklahoma State (13-7 in DII) and Central Oklahoma (12-7 in DII) to round out the top 10.

The rankings, which are weekly until March 4, will be used to seed the NCAA Division II tournament in the South Central region and place the at-large teams after automatic bids are issued to the Lone Star Conference, the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association and the Heartland Conference.
