center Eric Dawson became the fourth Mustangs starter to earn Lone Star Conference South Player of the Week honors after his tremendous play last week.

The 6-9 senior from San Antonio/Sam Houston led the Mustangs to a perfect 3-0 week with wins at Tarleton State and Abilene Christian as well as a home triumph over Angelo State.

Dawson
averaged 24.0 points, 11.0 rebounds, 3.00 steals and 1.67 blocked shots during the week. He also shot 68.3 percent from the floor (28-of-41) and 66.7 percent from the free throw line (16-of-24).

Dawson
scored a career-high 30 points with 14 rebounds in the Mustangs 107-96 win over
Angelo
State
and 24 points and 12 boards in the 93-75 win at Abilene Christian to total 13 double-doubles for the season.

Dawson
averages 17.0 points and 10.7 rebounds for the season to rank 11th in scoring and fourth in rebounding in the LSC. He leads the league with 3.16 blocked shots a game, ranking third nationally last week.

Eastern New Mexico's Elizabeth Richards was selected as the LSC South Women's Player of the Week, while the LSC North Players of the Week were

Dawson
is the fourth MSU player, the third straight, to claim the honor.
Dawson
joins teammates Drew Coffman, Chris Davis and Chad Rickett in being selected this season.

MSU opens the second half of LSC South division play on Wednesday night when Abilene Christian visits
