Chad Rickett selected as LSC South Player of the Week

senior guard Chad Rickett was named the Lone Star Conference South Men's Player of the Week for his outstanding play last week.

The 6-1, 185 pound fourth-year senior from Houston/Clear Lake scored an MSU season-high 30 points in Saturday's 90-81 victory over West Texas A&M and also led the team with 25 points in the narrow loss to Eastern New Mexico.

Rickett connected on 53.3 percent of his shots from the floor, making 16-of-30 attempts, including 5-of-8 (62.5 percent) from the three-point arc. He also hit 18-of-21 free throws (85.7 percent) for the week.

Additionally, Rickett posted 4.5 assists and 2.0 steals for the games and blocked one shot.

The MSU guard is joined by Texas A&M-Kingsville's Lana Toki who was selected as the LSC South Women's Player of the Week. Southeastern Oklahoma State's Kyric Rambo and Texas A&M-Commerce's Britney Jordan were honored as the LSC North Men's and Women's Players of the Week respectively.

Rickett is the third MSU player honored as the league's Player of the Week this season, with teammates Drew Coffman and Chris Davis also receiving the honor.
